TRICHOTOMY + Nozomi Omote
Saturday 17 July, 7.00 pm, Point Lookout Community Hall
So much more than a traditional jazz trio, Trichotomy wowed the sell-out audience at the Surf Club when they last played on the island at the 2012 festival.
Acclaimed in the Australian as a brilliant trio of stellar originality, they expand the capacities of the classic piano/bass/drums combination by skilfully blending dense, exciting improvisations and delicate atmospherics, conjuring up sounds of modern jazz, ambient music, avant-garde rock, free improvisation and contemporary classical music – wonderfully unpredictable and absorbing, dramatic and always distinctive.
(Sean Foran, piano; John Parker, drums; Samuel Vincent, acoustic bass + guest Nozomi Omote)
