Getting there

North Stradbroke Island is on Moreton Bay, only 26km south-east of Brisbane CBD.
Ferries to the Island run from Toondah Harbour, Cleveland (end of Middle St) regularly.
Stradbroke Ferries run a frequent vehicle barge service (about a 45 minute trip to the island) as well as a water taxi service (about a 20 minute trip).

Stradbroke Ferries continues to be major supporter of the Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival and they kindly provide festival patrons with discounted vehicle ferry travel to and from Cleveland (mainland) and Dunwich (Nth Stradbroke Island). Vehicle ferry timetables are available on their website. Please phone Stradbroke Ferries on (07) 3488 5300 and quote the Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival as your reason for travel to receive a discount on vehicle transport. There will be a special water taxi service to return to Toondah Harbour after the concert on August 5. No bookings necessary.

Directions to the venues once you reach the island.

Dunwich Community Hall, cnr Ballow Road & Junner Street

The hall is located about 150m from the Stradbroke Ferries terminal, up the hill on the right.

Amity Point Community Hall, 16 Ballow Street (Cnr Gonzales St)

There will be a special bus from Point Lookout to the hall before the concert on August 6.The bus will be leaving Point Lookout bus terminus at 10am, then picking up people at the Church and at the bottom of Tramican Street. It will return to Point Lookout after the concert and refreshments.

By car from the ferry terminal, drive along the East Coast Road until you reach the Amity turnoff (about a 15 minute drive).

If you are arriving by vehicle ferry: once you disemebark at Dunwich, follow the East Coast Road across the island. At Point Lookout, this road becomes Mooloomba Rd;, St Peter Chanel Church is on the corner of Hopewell St and Mooloomba Rd, just after Cylinder Beach on the left. The drive takes about 20 min to Point Lookout. Otherwise, a bus meets each water taxi and drops off at Cylinder Beach. The church is a one-minute walk up the road from the bus stop.

Kennedy Drive

The SLSC can be reached by driving to the end of Mooloomba Rd and turning left onto Kennedy Drive. The Club is on the left on the point just past South Gorge. By bus, get off at the last stop at Point Lookout and the SLSC can be reached easily on foot.
